This session is appropriate for beginners, and for students who:
Vinyasa “Flow” Yoga is a practice of breath-initiated, fluid movements which are linked together and sequenced to open the body in safe and gradual stages. It is one of the more aerobic and cardiovascular types of yoga, ideal for increasing endurance, and for both flexible students who need more stability and stronger students who may be tense or stiff, as it promotes strengthening where weak, and opening where tight.
This 8-week introductory series will have a slow and mindful approach, with an emphasis on deep and continuous breathing and finding balance in the body. We will break down and learn how to safely practice the signature “Vinyasa sequence,” to take care of the wrists, shoulders and lower back, and increase core strength. Each class will also include myofascial self-massage to facilitate freedom within the body and a brief guided meditation to nourish the mind-body-spirit.
This session is appropriate for beginners, and for students who:
• have taken an introductory yoga class/practice yoga but have never taken Vinyasa Flow;
• are new to yoga but have some movement background – i.e. dance, gymnastics, sports or martial arts;
• are returning to yoga after some time away from their practice.
