About the Happy Yogi Co-op

Welcome! We’re glad you found us!

Here at the Happy Yogi Co-op, our mission is that everyone who shares a yoga practice with us feels “Nurtured from Roots to Canopy.” We have a wonderful community of students and teachers, and pride ourselves on our compassionate and supportive environment. We are an inclusive community that celebrates diversity and welcomes yogis from ALL walks of life. Yoga is a lifelong practice that can begin at any time, so come just as you are to breathe and move with us. And if you’re new to yoga, rest assured — flexibility is NOT a prerequisite of yoga! (But it may be one of its beneficial side effects…)

All of our teachers are highly trained with a minimum of 200 hours in trainings that meet or exceed industry standards, but many have in excess of 500 hours of training in yoga, certifications or degrees in other healing modalities, and decades of teaching experience. We also boast four IAYT-certified Yoga Therapists on our staff, and are Montgomery County’s home for Yoga Therapy. We are here to help guide, grow and inspire your practice. You are always feel free to reach out with questions or concerns.

Our goal is to help each student cultivate a yoga practice that allows them to connect mind, heart and body, to be more present in their lives off the mat and experience more JOY in life.

“The time has come. Your time to live, to celebrate, and to see the goodness that you are.”

— Swami Kripalu

Meet Our Incredible Staff

Maureen Ahern

Maureen has been part of The Happy Yogi family since 2015. She had studied yoga on and off for a number of years, but once she retired she was able to return to a more regular practice. She was fortunate enough to find this studio and loved taking the different types of classes. She then had an opportunity to volunteer as a Karma Yogi and is now the Volunteer Coordinator for the studio.
