Community Acupuncture Happy Hour Clinic with Erin Langley, LAc, DAcCHM
In-Studio Only Friday, June 20 | Appointments available between 2:30-5:00pm
How do you make regular acupuncture treatments affordable and accessible, while still allowing the acupuncturist to earn a fair wage? Community Acupuncture! Instead of each client taking up an entire private room for the better part of an hour, increasing the practitioner's overhead and decreasing the number of clients they can see, a small group of people can be treated in the same space -- and that keeps costs down for client and practitioner alike. In addition, this model mirrors how acupuncture was originally and traditionally practiced, and how it is still practiced in many Asian countries.
To promote accessibility, this service is being offered on a sliding scale, so YOU choose what to pay -- $35, $45 or $55.
JoinErin Langley, LAc, DAcCHM for our ongoing Community “Happy Hour” Acupuncture Clinics. You’ll arrive at your scheduled time and get settled into a comfortable reclining or restorative pose on a yoga mat. We have ample bolsters and blankets you can use. Erin will come and check in and administer the treatment, and then you get to rest for 30+ minutes! You will remain fully clothed and needles will only be inserted in points that can be easily accessed — i.e. arms, hands, lower legs, feet, head and neck. We won’t disturb you while you rest, but give a wave when you’re ready to have the needles removed. If you have time, you’re welcome to relax in our lobby with a cup of tea before you leave.
Getting treated in a community setting has many benefits: ~ friends and family can come and get treatment together; ~ many patients find it comforting; ~ it demystifies the process by bringing it out into the open; ~ and just like sharing a yoga practice with others, being in the midst of collective healing can result in a more powerful experience for each individual.
While there will be other people in the room with you, you’ll be spaced out and won’t hear much noise or talking from around you. We'll have gentle music playing to create a relaxing, soothing environment, or you can bring your own ear buds and listen to music or a podcast, or just take a nap!
Whether you're new to acupuncture, returning to it after some time away, or a seasoned practitioner, Community Acupuncture is a low-key way to incorporate it more regularly into your life. Your questions and curiosity are welcome, and Erin enjoys treating people who are new to the practice; she combines a gentle needling style with simple breathing practices to support people who may be feeling nervous or apprehensive. We look forward to sharing this healing experience with you!
Sliding Scale Pricing: $35, $45 or $55 (you choose what to pay) Also offered April 4 and 18, May 9, May 30, July 11, August 1 and 22.
