Hatha Flow & Self-Myofascial Release with MaryAnn Hong
a FREE Class/FUNDRAISER for Current & Former Federal Employees
In-Studio and Online Sunday, April 6 | 4:00-5:30pm
WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER. Have you been asking yourself, “What can I do to help and make a difference right now?” Please join us for a special community event to relieve stress and anxiety, build community, and raise money to help those who may be out of a job and out of income after dedicating their expertise and career to our country. All proceeds will go towards helping those who cannot afford a privilege like a yoga practice right now to begin or maintain one when they need it the most.
If you are a former or current Federal Government Employee or Contractor, or the Spouse/Domestic Partner or a Dependent of one, this class is FREE for you! You can also apply for a month of free online yoga below.
Join MaryAnn for a slow and mindful "Hatha Flow" practice to calm and soothe the body, mind and spirit. Vinyasa Flow is a practice of breath-initiated, fluid movements linked together and sequenced to open the body in gradual stages, making it ideal for both strengthening where weak, and opening where tight. Hatha Flow slows this approach down, allowing for pauses within the sequences to hold and refine the poses.
Students will also be led through some foot reflexology and self-myofascial release using tennis balls (provided to in-studio participants). Self-myofascial release (SMR) is a great complement to yoga; it stimulates blood flow to increase the flexibility of soft tissue and improve range of motion, while offering stress and pain relief.
The class will culminate with a long, guided savasana.
Hybrid Offering, In-Studio and Online, with Recording Option Available thru April 8th For online participation, a link will be sent ~55 minutes prior to the start time.
Cost: FREE for Current & Former Federal Government Employees and Their Households OR make a donation* between $29-$99 to support the yoga practice of someone who cannot afford it right now.
*To make a donation ONLY (without attending), please utilize the second/VIRTUAL registration option, below.
