Join the Happy Yogi Cooperative Team for an Outdoor Yoga Sampler Series

Every Saturday during this 5-week series, a class appropriate for ALL levels of students will be offered, taught by a different HYC teacher each week. Sign up for one, a few, or all 5 classes!

*Note that if there is inclement weather on any given Saturday, the class will be held inside the Clubhouse of the Manor Woods Swim Club. See location information and other details below.

  • RESCHEDULED for SUNDAY, April 14 at 4pm - Vinyasa Flow with Dave Cohen

    Dave infuses functional movement asana sequences with humor and heart, to strengthen and stabilize the body while creating a sense of calm and balance. His classes typically include an arm balance option for those who would like the opportunity to practice, while reminding his students to prioritize enjoying the journey. “It’s okay to laugh and have fun in yoga class, so be prepared to smile.”

  • April 20 - Hatha Yoga & Meditation with Carrie Vieira

    Carrie’s classes encourage journeying inward to help her students access inner balance, joy and connection. Along with asana, she integrates breathwork, meditation and restorative poses, to fully receive the transformative benefits of the practice, and to experience the profound peace that is always available within us, here and now. “Yoga increases my sense of connectedness to my higher self and to all living beings.”

  • April 27 - Vinyasa Flow & Yoga Core with Julia Otten

    Julia’s fun and challenging practice welcomes every body, and will flow and focus on developing core strength. She encourages her students to work through mental and physical sensations in order to stay present and receive the many blessings yoga offers. “We are stronger than we give ourselves credit for — if we take a few minutes on our mat each day, transformation will happen!”

  • May 4 - Hatha Yoga & Pranayama with Monya Cohen

    Monya’s classes offer a rich and diverse yoga experience. A licensed psychologist, she weaves in asana, breathing techniques and mindfulness strategies to help students regulate their nervous systems, bring them into the present, and become more responsive, less reactive. “A student once described my classes as a large, leafy green salad, full of color and texture.”

  • May 11 - Vinyasa Flow & Meditation with Sarah Fishman

    Sarah’s gentle yet invigorating approach to Vinyasa emphasizes breath-initiated movement, safety and accessibility for all students, and that conscious awareness of breath and alignment cultivate and fortify the mind-body connection. “Through our practice we can open the body, quiet the mind, and finally hear the wisdom of our hearts.”

What to Bring

Participants should bring their own:
- Water
- Yoga mat
- A beach towel/blanket to lay between the grass and mat
- Props (blocks, strap, blanket if desired) - a limited quantity will be available to borrow, but it's always best to BYO if you have them!

Missed classes due to illness or scheduling conflicts may be made up:
- in any other week in this series
- in any in-studio or online (Zoom) classes
- in any other in-person sessions
